Geography/Environment
Curacao is located in the southwestern Caribbean. The largest of the Netherlands Antilles, it is 38 miles long and from 2 to 7.5 miles wide. It is located just 35 miles north of Venezuela, 42 miles east of Aruba and only 2 ½ hours by air from Miami.
Activities
Curacao has 38 beaches that are perfect for sunbathers, divers, and snorkelers. Divers and snorkelers will find an underwater paradise of "Mushroom Forests" and "Car Piles". Sports lovers can try everything from deep sea fishing to golfing, jogging and tennis. Nature lovers can climb Mount Christoffel, and explore the "living" Hato Caves. Architecture and history buffs will want to visit the splendid country mansions (landhuizen) and explore historic Willemstad's charming streets and pedestrian malls, home to many museums and landmarks. After hours you can dance the night away to the beat of soca, salsa, meringue and rock & roll, or try your luck at a casino.
Climate and Weather
Curacao is outside the hurricane belt, making it a sure holiday destination for good weather. The average temperature is around the mid 80ºF (27ºC). Refreshing trade winds blow constantly from the east, picking up in the spring months. The rainy season, October to February, is marked by short, occasional showers, usually at night, and continued sunny weather by day.
