Geography/Environment
The island of Puerto Rico is almost rectangular in shape, and is the smallest and the most eastern island of the Greater Antilles, measuring 100 by 35 miles. The territory is very mountainous (cover 60%), except in the regional coasts, but Puerto Rico offers astonishing variety: rain forest, deserts, beaches, caves, oceans and rivers. Puerto Rico also has some of the most important caves in the western hemisphere.
Activities
Golf or play tennis at a myriad of resorts on the island. Water sports abound, including surfing, kayaking, and fishing. And, places like Mona Island, Caja de Muertos and the varied coastal wetlands ecosystems are a paradise for seclusion and meditation
Climate and Weather
Puerto Rico is very warm and humid year round between 75-85ºF (24-30ºC). The mountains are quite a bit cooler than the coast but won't need a warm jacket and hat. The busiest time of the year is between December and April. During these months the island is swamped by visitors, prices are highest and resorts are booked.
